What is Ivy in the Dark?
Ivy in the Dark is a (currently) 54-page graphic novel about a little girl named Ivy, who has the misfortune of being the most recently selected candidate for her village's annual ritual sacrifice to the gods. Armed with nothing but a rusty lamp and with no company except a bearded dragon named Adrian, she is lowered into the pitch black of the caves beneath the mountain village, there to be devoured by the great mountain beast which dwells in the depths. However, she may be surprised by what she finds deep down in the dark...
What stage is the project at?
The comic script has been written and redrafted to its final version since 2015 and since then I've been working on concept art and character designs on and off in the background of other projects. I've finally started working on the page layouts (example below), which be the last stage for structural/narrative tweaks before I start working on the final pages themselves. It's still in an early stage obviously, but I'm tentatively hopeful that the whole project will see completion late 2019, at which point a Kickstarter will be run to fund printing.
